ikuyu, this is the most common lawn. Most domestic houses have this lawn laid by the developers prior to you purchase as it is the most affordable. Kikuyu lawn require full sun as in the shade they thin out and become very thin or die completely. Kikuyu grows very fast and should be mowed at least once a week. Although the maintenance factor is high due to its aggressive growth, for the same reason it repairs itself quickly and as a result has a high traffic tolerance. Most sports fields use a combination of Kikuyu and Bermuda. This combination is the most rugged and repairs itself very quickly. Kikuyu lawn also has a very soft texture and a relatively broad leaf, if cared for correctly it makes an outstanding lawn and has a deep to light green color. Kikuyu also loves water and, in summer should be watered twice a day for about 15 minutes in the morning and evening. Kikuyu is a great choice if you have a dog, children and the area receives full sun provided you don’t mind mowing once a week.
